A few weeks ago, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the 2019 Original Medicare cost share amounts.
They are as follows:
Part A deductible* will be $1,364.00, an increase of $24.00
Part A Coinsurance for *Inpatient Hospital Care (days 61-90) will be $341.00 per day, an increase of $6.00.
The Lifetime Reserve Co-insurance for *Inpatient Hospital Care (days 91-150) will be $682.00 per day, an increase of $12.00.
Skilled Nursing Facility Co-insurance will be $170.50 a day, an increase of $3.00.
As discussed in October 15th's post, Medicare Part B deductible will become $185.00, an increase of $2.00.
*Per benefit period (A benefit period begins on the first day you receive service as an inpatient in a hospital and ends after you have been out of the hospital and have not received skilled care in any other facility for 60 days in a row.)
